Where to start with this development – this excites Paul, Steve and I, no end! Running the Rift, in collaboration with Yiga Frances – local running coach and ex-international Ugandan athlete, are hosting the inaugural Great Rift 10k.
This will be held the day after the half and full marathon, on Sunday 2nd December 2018. The Great Rift 10k is a no frills event, just pure East African running at the height of the international 10k season. It’s open to everybody and with a registration fee of just 15,000 UGX (approx. 4 USD), we hope it will attract running talent far and wide and be a spectacular community event.
Runners on our trip package can get stuck in and help us marshal and time the event, or if their legs are back in action, they can join the runners! Distance running was born in East Africa and this event is all about celebrating that!
